South Shore League Scholar Athlete Award

Congratulations to Erik Johnson and Stephanie Striglio for being named Hull High School's Scholar Athletes for this school year.  The South Shore League annually recognizes the top male and female student-athletes at each school within the league.  On Wednesday night, Erik and Stephanie were honored at a banquet in Plymouth at Southers Marsh.  They joined sixteen other student-athletes from across the league in being recognized for academic and co-curricular excellence.

On Thursday, March 21, the Hull Booster Club was awarded with the prestigious Joao Rodriguez Distinguished Service Award by the Massachusetts Secondary Schools Athletic Directors' Association.  This award recognized and appreciated this organization for their efforts in raising more than $300,000 over the last four years to help maintain interscholastic athletics at Hull High School.

The MSSADA is an organization that represents athletic directors across the state.  The absolute high light of the night was when host Ann Trytko of Hampshire Regional introduced our Booster Club, "They have raised over $300,000 to help maintain athletics at Hull High School....."  A room, filled with hundreds of athletic directors let out a collective, "Wow!"

The Hull High School Athletic Department has been thinking the same thing for 4 years!  We are so thankful that the association that represents the Commonwealth of Massachusetts also recognizes and appreciates the heroic efforts of our group.

All involved recognize and appreciate that SO many in our community should be celebrated for their efforts in keeping our student-athletes on the field, court and ice.  All involved also appreciate that recognition for one, is recognition for all!

Fall Preseason Athletic Meetings and Paperwork Dates/Times

Before you know it, Fall Sports will be starting up.  Here are some important dates and times:

First day of Football:  August 20
First day of other Fall Sports:  August 23

All student-athletes will need to attend a pre-season team meeting and provide their coach with a completed eligibility ticket.  To complete an eligibility ticket, student-athletes must be in good academic standing, have filled out all forms, have taken an ImPact test, valid physical within last 13 months, paid athletic user fee or turned in waiver paperwork, and have no equipment owed to the athletic department.

Athletic user fees have not changed since last year.  Football is $275, while all other sports are $250.  Checks can be made payable to the Hull Public Schools.

Student-athletes and their families can pick up/drop off necessary paperwork and an eligibility ticket during these times in the Exhibition Room:

Monday, August 13:  8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, August 14:  5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, August 15:  5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Paperwork is also available on the athletic department web site:  http://www.town.hull.ma.us/Public_Documents/HullMA_HighSchClass/AthleticDirector/Participation%20Paperwork

If you come during one of the above listed time frames with paperwork complete, you will be in and out of the high school in 5 minutes.

Mandatory pre-season team meetings will be held according to the following schedules on Wednesday, August 15:

Cross Country:  Cafeteria at 6:00 p.m.
